The Biggest Chicken-Fried Steak in the Ozarks

We’re home to the biggest chicken-fried steak in the Ozarks, served with house-made mashed potatoes and white country gravy. It starts with a 16-ounce beef steak, breaded and cooked to order.

Guests get the hearty plate shown in our food photos, with the crisp coating, house-made mashed potatoes, and white country gravy that make Chicken Fried Steak a comfort-food favorite.

More Hearty Entrées Beyond Chicken-Fried Steak

McGarity’s has several more choices for meat-and-potatoes fans. The Pork Chop is a 16-ounce, double-bone French-cut chop. It comes with house-made mashed potatoes, house-made gravy, and braised carrots. Guests can also choose our hand-cut Cowboy Split-Bone Ribeye, burgers, Shepherd’s or Cottage Pie, Bangers & Mash, and a stacked Reuben.

Our most popular dishes include Blackened Redfish, Chicken Fried Steak, Shepherd’s Pie, Fish and Chips, Shrimp Creole, our pasta dishes, and Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. Seafood is a regular part of our menu, alongside burgers, vegetarian and vegan choices, and our hand-cut Cowboy Split-Bone Ribeye.

House-Made Sides and Starters

A hearty entrée is only part of the meal. Signature sides include colcannon, house-made mash, braised carrots, grilled cabbage with bacon, asparagus, cheese grits, green beans, and a romaine Caesar salad. Guests can also choose fries, sweet potato waffle fries, or onion rings. The current menu shows which sides have an added charge.

Shared starters can turn dinner into a table event. Choices include Wild West Wings, onion rings, Irish Nachos, pretzels with Irish pub cheese, and Irish Reuben Egg Rolls. The Irish Reuben Egg Rolls are filled with corned beef and sauerkraut. They come with thousand island dressing on the side.

These choices work well for guests who want to share a few bites before the main course. They also give the table more ways to sample the menu. Ask your server about current sizes, sauces, and side choices.

A Full Menu for the Rest of the Table

A group should not have to order the same type of food. McGarity’s also serves seafood, salads, sandwiches, pasta, vegan food, vegetarian choices, and children’s meals. That broad menu is one reason mixed groups can dine here with less stress.

Seafood choices include White Wine Salmon, Blackened Redfish, Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna, Garlic Shrimp Pasta, Shrimp Creole & Grits, Guinness Fish, Shrimp & Chips, and grilled real-crab cakes. The crab cake plate has two grilled real-crab cakes, house-made cocktail sauce, and two sides. Guests can read more in our seafood guide.

Fresh salads and sandwiches add lighter or more casual options. The herbivore section has salads with chicken, salmon, ahi tuna, or shrimp add-ons. Sandwich choices include the Steakhouse Burger, McGarity’s Reuben, Chicken Sandwich, Irish Banger Sandwich, and Chicken or Tuna Salad.

Fresh Cooking and Dietary Planning

McGarity’s cooks every dish fresh and to order. Grilled, breaded, seared, and sauced entrées need time in the kitchen. We ask guests to allow that food the time it needs. The wait helps the team serve each plate as planned.

Fried items use a canola and soybean oil blend. Other dishes are made without seed oils. Tell your server about every allergy or food need before you order. The kitchen uses shared tools, work areas, and fryers. Cross-contact is possible, and no dish can be called allergen-free. Restaurant staff make the final call about what can be prepared for each guest.

Clear words help the team act fast. Say what you need and what you must avoid. Ask before the order is sent to the kitchen. This gives staff time to check current food and prep steps.
